Market Match and COVID-19

Many Farmers’ Markets are open, operating with additional safety measures in place. Market Match continues to double your food dollars at participating farmers’ markets. Visit Farmers’ Market Finder to find a participating market near you.

For customers:
CalFresh is offering additional benefits during the pandemic. These additional benefits (Pandemic-EBT and Disaster-SNAP) can be used like normal CalFresh benefits at farmers’ markets. You can earn Market Match for qualifying purchases.

If you already have CalFresh:
Emergency Allotment for CalFresh – Households that have received CalFresh in the months of March and April will receive the maximum benefit amount for eligible recipients in the household.
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) passed by the US Congress temporarily suspends CalFresh work requirements for Able-bodied Adults Without Dependents. No one will be required to work 20 hours a week in order to keep receiving CalFresh.

If you do not already have CalFresh:
You can screen for eligibility and apply at GetCalFresh.org.
For additional questions about eligibility and the application process, find your local food bank at CAFoodBanks.org or call 211 and ask for CalFresh or other services.

Food banks are essential services offering emergency food to those who need it (find your local food bank for more information).
